Roofing FAQs

Why should I choose a metal roof?

Metal roofing systems are environmentally-friendly and, when you consider the 40-year warranty, they are easy on the budget, too. Our expert roofing technicians can walk you through your options and show you how you can keep your home safe from the elements for years to come.

How do I know I need a roofing inspection?

There are many signs that your roof may have damage. These include missing shingles, discoloration, and water stains on the interior of your home. However, if you have not had a roofing inspection in more than a few years, there may also be hidden issues, such as leaks and rotted plywood, that you can’t see from the ground with the naked eye.

How much does a new roof cost?

There are many factors that go into the cost of a new roof. In addition to the materials you choose, the size of your roof and even the grade of the slope all factor into your overall investment. At Byler And Sons, we take pride in offering the best value in the industry. That’s why we recommend metal roofing systems. We also offer asphalt shingles for consumers needing a quick roof replacement on a budget.

How long does it take to replace a roof?

Usually, we can replace the roof in about a day. Keep in mind, however, that yours may take longer, depending on the size of the project and if you have an old roof that needs to be removed prior to installation.

What are some things to ask my roofing company before I sign a contract?

You’ll first want to ask about their experience and whether they are bonded, insured, and licensed. Ask your technician if they can provide reviews, references, and testimonials. Don’t be shy about asking to see a copy of the roofing warranty and whether or not your roofer is BBB Accredited.

Who do I talk to if I have a problem during installation?

Each project is assigned a project manager, and you will be provided their contact number at the beginning of installation. You can always call the office or touch base

About Dickson TN

Dickson is a city in Dickson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 9,824 at the 2010 census.

Dickson was settled in 1787 by William Dickson and his family. The city was named for him. General James Winchester built a fort nearby in 1789 to protect settlers from attacks by Native Americans. The fort was named Fort Winchester after General James Winchester of Virginia. The fort was occupied until 1815 when it was abandoned due to lack of funds to maintain it.

The first railroad arrived in 1852, which led to growth of cotton production in the area as well as shipping products out of Nashville via railroads.

When the Civil War began in 1861, General Nathan Bedford Forrest captured Fort Donelson before moving on to Memphis where he took command of Confederate forces there and led them against Union troops at Shiloh. He later became one of Tennessee's most famous generals during the war, leading Confederate troops during many battles including Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge in Georgia and Bragg's invasion into Kentucky that ended at Perryville with one of the bloodiest battles fought west of the Mississippi River during the Civil War (Perryville).
